How do I check Klaviyo sharing works and build a segment?
Turn on the SignalLane embed's Debug logging setting, open your store as a visitor Klaviyo knows, and read one console line. Then segment on the SignalLane properties, per store.
You can see what SignalLane does with Klaviyo on any page of your store, with your own browser.
Check that it works
- In the theme editor, open the SignalLane app embed, turn on Debug logging and save.
- Open your store in a private window with
?utm_email=and your own email address on the end, for examplehttps://your-store.com/?utm_email=you@example.com. Klaviyo uses that to recognise your browser. - In the cookie banner, allow marketing and the sharing of data, for example accept all.
- Open the browser's console and find the line starting
[SignalLane] klaviyo:. - Turn Debug logging off again when you are done.
What the line says:
sent: the details were handed to Klaviyo. Check your profile in Klaviyo.unchanged: already sent this session.no consent: the visitor has not allowed marketing and the sharing of their data, or the cookie banner's settings could not be read.not identified: Klaviyo does not recognise this browser.no klaviyo: Klaviyo's script is not on the page. Turn on its app embed.failed: Klaviyo did not accept the call.
Build a segment
In Klaviyo, create a segment with the condition Properties about someone › SignalLane Country › equals › DE, or any other SignalLane property. Use the codes, not country or language names.
Several stores
Each store has its own switch, its own cookie banner and its own Klaviyo account. When SignalLane sends a visitor from store A to store B, SignalLane Redirected is set on store B only if store B has this switched on, the visitor allows marketing and the sharing of their data there, and store B's Klaviyo already recognises them. Klaviyo recognises browsers per website, so a visitor known on store A is not automatically known on store B. If both stores share one Klaviyo account, they write to the same profile, and the latest store visited wins.
Klaviyo's own email links carry an encrypted parameter, _kx, that SignalLane passes on when it sends a visitor to another store, unless the rule keeps only the parameters you list and _kx is not one of them.

Questions and answers
- The console says "not identified". What does that mean?
- Klaviyo does not recognise this browser, so SignalLane adds nothing. Open the store with ?utm_email= and your own address, or click one of your Klaviyo emails, then try again.
- Does SignalLane pass email addresses on when it redirects?
- No. When SignalLane sends a visitor to another site it never passes on a utm_email parameter, in any letter case, because that is a plain email address.

With it on, SignalLane adds a visitor's country, language, market, store, banner choice and whether it sent them here to their Klaviyo profile, only with their consent and only if Klaviyo already knows them.
