What can I ask Shopify Sidekick about SignalLane?
Sidekick can read seven of SignalLane's reports: AI-assistant traffic, broken links, visitor rules, saved checkout rules, what is missing SEO text or alt text, and messages to translate. It changes nothing.
Sidekick is the assistant in your Shopify admin. With SignalLane installed, it can read seven of SignalLane's reports when you ask about them, and each answer comes with a link to the matching SignalLane page.
What you can ask
- AI assistants: which assistants, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity or Copilot, sent visitors and orders in a date range. Orders and revenue come from your Shopify orders, for days SignalLane has confirmed with them. SignalLane detects them from the referring site, so Shopify's own analytics may classify differently.
- Broken links: the pages visitors reached and did not find, with how often. Crawler visits are included.
- Visitor rules: your redirects, banners and notices, and whether each is on or paused. "On" means switched on in SignalLane; visitors see it only while the SignalLane app embed is on in your theme.
- Checkout rules: what you have saved, and entries that have expired or expire within seven days. Sidekick says they are saved, never that they are active, because SignalLane cannot see whether you added it in Settings › Checkout › Checkout rules.
- SEO titles and meta descriptions: the products or collections whose SEO title or meta description SignalLane's copy shows as empty. Sidekick can write drafts into a CSV file; you import it on the SEO titles & descriptions page (Import from Sidekick, then Import file) and check each draft before you save.
- Alt text: the images with no alt text, with SignalLane's Reference for each. Sidekick can write drafts into a CSV file with that Reference column; you import it on the Alt text page. A draft is matched by its Reference only, and left out if the image changed after the list was made.
- Messages to translate: the messages you typed in SignalLane, with the languages each still needs. Sidekick can translate them into a CSV file you import on the Translations page, as drafts you check before you save. Translate your messages.
Try, for example: "Which AI assistants sent me orders last month?", "What broken links are visitors hitting?" or "Write alt text for my blog images that have none"
What it cannot do
Sidekick only reads. It cannot create, change, pause or delete a rule, create a redirect, save SEO text, alt text or a translation, or change a setting such as Klaviyo sharing. When you ask for a new rule, it can give you a link to SignalLane's new-rule form, with the countries and linked store you asked for where SignalLane could match them; you check the form and press Save. Sidekick rephrases what SignalLane returns, so for exact figures open the SignalLane page it links to.
