Which languages do shoppers see?
SignalLane's own text for shoppers comes in sixteen languages. The admin is in English, and the words you write are shown as you wrote them unless you translate them.
Everything SignalLane shows your shoppers can appear in their language. SignalLane's own text comes in sixteen languages, and you can write your own words in every language your store publishes. The SignalLane admin itself is in English.
The sixteen languages
SignalLane's built-in text is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Japanese, Swedish, Danish, Polish, Chinese (Simplified), Korean, Arabic and Hebrew.
What is translated for you
SignalLane translates the text it writes itself, on every surface a shopper meets:
- Banners and notices: the buttons and labels, and the default words when you leave a field empty.
- Store selectors and store lists: their headings and buttons. The list opens on the shopper's own language where the store offers it.
- The broken-link card: the card shown on a page that no longer exists.
- The cart suggestion and the checkout message (the checkout message needs Shopify Plus).
- Checkout refusals: the sentence a buyer reads when a rule or a checkout rule stops the checkout.
How the shopper's language is chosen
On the storefront, SignalLane uses the language your store is showing the shopper, not the languages set in their browser. At checkout, it uses the buyer's checkout language. A shopper whose language is not one of the sixteen sees SignalLane's English text. That includes Traditional Chinese, which SignalLane does not offer yet.
This is separate from a rule's Browser languages condition, which decides who a rule matches and reads the browser's settings. Referring sites, browser languages and pages.
What is not translated on its own
Words you type, such as a banner title, a notice message, a checkout message or a checkout rule's message, are shown exactly as you wrote them, to every shopper, until you add a version for another language. SignalLane never translates your words on its own: a translation from Sidekick or AI is a draft until you save it. Translate your own words.
If a built-in sentence reads wrong
Write your own text in that field for that language: your words replace SignalLane's for those shoppers. Then tell us at support@signallane.app so we can improve the built-in sentence for everyone.
Arabic and Hebrew storefronts read right to left. Right-to-left storefronts.
Questions and answers
- Is the SignalLane admin translated?
- No. The admin is in English. Only what your shoppers see is translated.
- What does a shopper in another language see?
- Your own text in that language if you wrote one, else your default text, and SignalLane's English text only where you left the field empty. Your own words always come before SignalLane's.

- LanguagesHow do I translate my own banner and checkout messages?
Pick a language in the Language selector beside your text and write that version. Shoppers get their exact language first, then the bare language, then your default text.
- LanguagesDoes SignalLane work on right-to-left storefronts?
Yes. Banners, notices, the broken-link card and the cart suggestion follow your theme's text direction, and read right to left for Arabic, Hebrew and other right-to-left languages.
- Visitor rulesHow do I change how a banner looks?
Set one look for every banner and notice on the Default look page, then give a single rule its own words and look on its Customize screen, beside a live preview.
- Cart and checkoutHow do I suggest my other store in the cart and at checkout?
Turn on the Suggest the other store card on a rule that sends visitors to a linked store or one of your market domains. The cart suggestion needs SignalLane's Growth plan or above; the checkout message also needs Shopify Plus.
