What can a rule do once stores are linked?
A rule can send visitors to the linked store, offer the same product there, suggest it in the cart or at checkout, and list it in the store-picker layouts. Its orders are attributed too.
Once two stores are linked, a rule on either store can send visitors to the other with Where they go › Another Shopify store. The link also unlocks product-for-product offers, cart and checkout suggestions, the linked store in your store-picker layouts, and attribution for orders placed there.
Send visitors to the other store
Pick the linked store in the rule's Where they go section. The visitor lands on the same page on the other store, with every campaign tag kept, and SignalLane adds its own campaign marker so the other store knows the visit came from yours. If the other store changes its primary domain, SignalLane follows it without you re-saving the rule.

Offer the same product
The On product pages section is shown only for a rule that sends visitors to a linked store. It compares your products with the other store's:
- If the page does not exist on the destination: SignalLane asks the linked store whether it sells this product. Redirect anyway sends the visitor regardless; Send them to the closest place and Keep them here and say it isn't sold there keep them on a page we know exists.
- Offer the same product on the linked store: on a product page, the banner links straight to that product there, with your own product text.
{product}becomes the product's name and{store}the linked store's name (Words that fill in). - Only when it's sold out here: a Banner rule that speaks only on products sold out on your store, when the linked store can sell them.
The product text is shown only when the linked store really sells the product. How products are matched.
Suggest it in the cart and at checkout
The Suggest the other store card can show a link to the linked store in your cart (Growth plan and above, on any Shopify plan) and a message in your checkout (Growth plan and above, and Shopify Plus). With a linked store, the link carries the items in the cart that the other store sells. Suggest the other store.
List it in the store-picker layouts
The Selector card and Store list banner layouts list your own markets first and then each linked store, with its flag, currency and languages. When the visitor picks one, they go there with their campaign tags kept. Banner layouts.
Attribution across stores
Because SignalLane is installed on the linked store too, it sees the visitor arrive with SignalLane's campaign marker and credits the order there to the campaign that brought them to your first store. The order appears on the linked store's Attribution page. Why an order can show as direct.
Compared with the other two destinations
- A market domain of this store: the same store, so no product comparison is needed or possible. Cart and checkout suggestions work, but no cart is carried.
- Any other website: SignalLane is not installed there, so it cannot compare products, suggest it at checkout, or measure what visitors buy.
Questions and answers
- Can I send visitors to a store without linking it?
- Yes, with Any other website. Campaign tags travel with the visitor, but SignalLane cannot measure what they buy there or compare products.
- What happens if the other store changes its domain?
- SignalLane follows it. The rule sends visitors to the linked store's current primary domain each time your rules are published; you do not need to re-save the rule.
