Getting started

What is on the Settings page?

Settings links to Default look, Notifications, Integrations, AI credits, Translations and Help. SignalLane does not send emails yet, and Klaviyo stays off until you connect it.

Settings in SignalLane's menu is a list of six pages. Each row has a short line saying what it holds:

  • Default look: how banners and popups look unless a rule has its own look. Change how a banner looks.
  • Notifications: which emails SignalLane sends you, the summary email, and what was sent recently.
  • Integrations: connections between SignalLane and other tools, today Klaviyo.
  • AI credits: your monthly limit for AI answers, and how much of it is used.
  • Translations: your SignalLane messages in each of your store's languages, translated with Sidekick or AI.
  • Help: how to reach SignalLane support, guides and the privacy policy.

Once SignalLane checks plans, a seventh row, Plan and usage, is listed first: your plan and what you have used of it this billing period. Plans and usage.

Notifications

SignalLane is not sending emails yet, and the Notifications page says so at the top. You can already choose who gets SignalLane emails, which alerts you want, how often the summary email comes, and whether to receive setup tips. Your choices are saved and apply once SignalLane starts sending. Until then no email goes out, and anything that would have been sent is listed under Recent emails as not sent.

Two alerts about AI shopping readiness are off until you turn them on: when your robots.txt newly asks AI crawlers to stay away, and when a product page loses its product data.

Integrations

One card, Klaviyo. Press Connect to let SignalLane add a visitor's country, language, market, store, banner choice and whether SignalLane sent them here to their Klaviyo profile, for visitors who allowed marketing and the sharing of their data and whom Klaviyo already recognises. Disconnect turns it off. What the Klaviyo integration adds.

AI credits and Translations

Writing alt text, SEO text, descriptions and translations with AI uses credits: 1 for each answer SignalLane can use, nothing for one it cannot. About AI credits. The Translations page lists every message you typed in SignalLane and every language your store publishes. Translate your messages.

Settings that live elsewhere

  • URL redirects: its Settings tab holds whether SignalLane may create redirects in Shopify and what a shopper sees on a page that no longer exists.
  • Attribution: whether visit tracking is connected, and Reset visit tracking in its Actions menu, only needed if fake visits are being recorded.
  • Checkout rules: the addresses, emails and limits your checkout refuses.

Questions and answers

Will SignalLane email me when something breaks?
Not yet. You can choose your alerts on the Notifications page now; SignalLane will use those choices once it starts sending, and until then no email goes out.
Where do I change what happens on a broken page?
On the URL redirects page, under its Settings tab. Home's URL redirects card links there too.
