How do I see and undo what SignalLane changed in my store?
Change history lists every alt text, SEO title, meta description and description SignalLane wrote to your store, with before and after. Restore puts one back, and Export CSV saves the list.
Change history is in the Actions menu of AI readiness, Alt text and SEO titles & descriptions. It lists every change SignalLane made to your store's alt text, SEO titles and meta descriptions, and product and collection descriptions, newest first, 50 a page. Changes are kept for 90 days.
What each row shows
- When, in your store's time zone.
- Item: the product, collection or image.
- What changed: alt text, SEO title, meta description or description.
- Before → after: the text before and after. An empty SEO field reads "(empty: Shopify's default)".
- How: saved by you, imported from a file, written with AI, automatic fill, or an undo or restore.
Filter and search
Narrow the list by item (products, collections, product images, blog post covers, images in pages or in blog posts), by what changed, by how it was made, and by date, or search by item title. A search needs at least 3 letters or numbers in a row. If a search matches too many items to list quickly, the page asks you to type more of the title. Clear filters brings the whole list back.
Restore
Restore on a row puts back what was there before that change. It is the same as Undo on the Alt text or SEO page, and it is offered on the newest change of a field that has not been undone, inside 90 days (30 days for a description written with AI). SignalLane checks the store first: if the text is no longer what SignalLane wrote, nothing is changed and the row says so. For an image inside a page, SignalLane may put the whole page back as it was if the page has not changed since; otherwise it puts back only that image's description.
A row marked Changed again later has a newer change for the same field, so restore that one instead. Past 90 days (or Past 30 days for a description) means the earlier text is no longer kept.
Export
Export CSV prepares a file of the changes your filters show, in the background, with times in UTC. Every cell is quoted, so a spreadsheet shows text that starts with = or + as text, never as a formula.
Questions and answers
- Why is there no Restore on a row?
- Restore is offered on the newest change to a field, inside 90 days (30 for a description written with AI), when it has not already been undone. An older change was replaced by a later one.
- Does Restore overwrite an edit I made in Shopify?
- No. SignalLane restores a change only if the store still shows the text SignalLane wrote. If it was changed since, nothing is changed.
